Why Slough works
This is the strongest corporate market in Berkshire by headcount. Family days, summer parties, product launches and staff celebrations all happen here at scale, and a robot that holds a conversation in any language earns its place in one of the most multilingual towns in the country.
The multilingual point is not a gimmick in Slough. He answers live rather than from a script, so the conversation is real.
Where he goes
Places in Slough that suit him
Slough Trading Estate
global names with large sites, large headcounts and a real appetite for staff events
Queensmere area
town centre retail footfall, covered and level
Corporate headquarters
several multinationals base UK operations here and run launches that need a talking point
Schools and colleges
a young and diverse population, and a robot that answers in a pupil's first language lands differently
What he actually does
He walks, he dances, and he holds a live conversation in whatever language someone speaks to him in, answering on the spot rather than from a script. He takes a penalty if you line one up. What he cannot do is grip, so he will not carry a tray or hand anything over, and we would rather say that now than on the day.
