Why Bracknell works
The Lexicon gave Bracknell a modern centre with wide, level walkways and good light, which is close to ideal for a walking robot. The town also carries a dense cluster of technology employers, so a corporate audience here is a short drive rather than a trip to London.
Bracknell Forest Council runs a community events programme, and joining an existing event is usually faster than arranging a standalone date.
Where he goes
Places in Bracknell that suit him
The Lexicon
wide level walkways, strong natural light and the kind of open square where a crowd can gather safely
Bond Square
the events space the centre already uses, so the ground and the power are known quantities
Bracknell Forest schools
a STEM talk that walks in is remembered for longer than one delivered from a laptop
The technology parks
Dell, Honeywell and their neighbours run the kind of launches and family days he suits
What he actually does
He walks, he dances, and he holds a live conversation in whatever language someone speaks to him in, answering on the spot rather than from a script. He takes a penalty if you line one up. What he cannot do is grip, so he will not carry a tray or hand anything over, and we would rather say that now than on the day.
